Dimension Codes¶
This table holds the different codes and descriptions that are used to calculate how much stock is used when a blind is made.
These calculator codes are applied to stock codes and also to stock defaults in the blind type set up.
Here are some descriptions:
Bearing Box * Drop - this is the number of bearing boxes used multiplied by the drop of the blind
Drop - this will calculate unit usage by manufacturing drop
Louvres - this means the quantity is determined by the number of louvres used eg for weights
Louvres * Fabric Length - this is the number of vanes used multiplied by the vane fabric length
Replaced - used for generic wood slat names from which wood slat sizes are calculated
Quantity - a straight quantity figure
Slats * Slats Width - this is the number of slats used multiplied by the number of slats
Square Metres - multiplies the width by the drop to give a square meterage
Width Variable - uses a quantity but this may be looked up in a table which is width related
Drop Variable - uses a quantity but this may be looked up in a table which is drop related
Width - calculates usage by manufacturing width
Width & Drop - uses a multiple of width added to a multiple of drop
Width or Drop - uses the smallest of either width or drop
Woodslat - indicates woodslat stock item.
The following checkboxes are also available and determine what options are available in Stock Control > Dimension Calculations.
Use Width
Use Drop
Use Quantity
Use Code Letter
When clicking the ‘Formula’ button, the ‘Formula Amend’ form appears.
Hare a user may set a required formula for a particular dimension.
Calculators
The calculator (Dimension Codes) can be specified in the 'Stock Item > General' tab:
- Width
If the calculator is Width, it means this is a not turnable fabric and the fabric should be cut from the roll by Width only.
Blindata checks if the blind drop is less than Roll Width and display the warning message if it is not.
- Drop
If the calculator is Drop, it means this is a not turnable fabric and the fabric should be cut from the roll by Blind Drop only.
Blindata checks if the blind width is less than Roll Width and display the warning message if it is not.
- Width & Drop
If the calculator is 'Width & Drop' Blindata doesn't check the roll width and calculates the fabric usage (BOM value for the fabric) as Blind Width + Blind Drop
- Width or Drop
If the calculator is 'Width or Drop', it means this is a turnable fabric and the fabric is able to be cut from the roll by Width or by Drop.
Blindata selects what size is bigger but less than the Roll Width to calculate the BOM by Blind Width or by Blind Drop and to have a lower scrap of the fabric cut.
If both sizes are bigger than the Roll Width, a warning message will be displayed.
