Account Category

The ‘Account Category’ system table is used to categorize customers.

The ‘Account Category’ field in the customer record (Sales Files > Customers > Options > Account Category) looks up this table.

This may be subcategorized further as follows: ‘COD’, ‘On credit hold’, ‘Credit approval pending’, etc.

If the customer is flagged as ‘Inactive Customer’, then only account categories checked as ‘Inactive’ can be selected from a drop down list.

If the customer is not flagged as ‘Inactive Customer’, then only account categories not checked as ‘Inactive’ can be selected
from a drop down list.

If the customer is not flagged as ‘Inactive Customer’ but flagged as ‘On Credit Hold’, the order for this customer will be put
‘On Credit Hold’. That means the order must be paid before the goods are dispatched / collected.
